Updated: Feb 6, 2024

Are you looking to get married in the state of Florida? If so, congratulations! We are excited for you and your future together. This blog was created to be a practical guide, providing information and links to help you submit your marriage application and process your Florida marriage license.

FL Requirements summarized to get married:

- Each person must have a form of state-authorized ID, such as a driver’s license, passport, or Military ID.

- Both individuals need to be present to obtain the necessary documentation.

- Each person must be 18 years old or older. For underage marriages, there is a procedure outlined (link below).

- If either party has been previously married, you'll need the date, state, and county of the divorce. The same applies to a death certificate or annulment.

- There's a three-day waiting period between the date of issuance and the effective date of the license. The state allows 60 days for processing/notarization. It's recommended to pick up your license paperwork at least 3 days before your wedding day.

- The marriage license fee is $86.
